Owners of UK accountancy practices with roughly £100k to £5m of recurring fees who expect to exit within five years, whether you’re selling now, building value first, or just want to know the number. Buyers are welcome too.
What you’ll take awayWhat’s in the recording
- What practices actually sell for now, and why two practices on the same fees get different offers.
- What buyers pay a premium for, and what knocks the price down.
- The 12 to 36 month plan: what to fix, and in what order, for a 2027 or 2028 sale.
- Deal structures decoded: deferred consideration, clawbacks and earn-outs. What’s normal, and what to push back on.
- Live questions, plus one thing Simon and Tim have seen move the price that most owners never do.Only on the day
A conversation, not a lecture
30 to 45 minutes. Simon and Tim talk it through, and you can put questions to them throughout. It’s recorded, and everyone who registers gets the recording, whether or not they make it on the day.
Simon Read
Founder & Managing Director, Accountants For Sale
Simon Read is the founder and Managing Director of Accountants For Sale, a specialist UK brokerage focused exclusively on the sale and acquisition of accountancy practices.
Simon works directly with practice owners considering an exit, helping them understand what their practice is worth, prepare for sale, identify the right buyers, and negotiate the best possible deal and structure.
Over the years, Simon has built an extensive UK-wide network of active acquirers, ranging from individual accountants and established regional firms to some of the most acquisitive consolidators in the market.
This gives him a front-line view of the accountancy M&A market: what buyers are paying, what drives valuations, what can reduce an offer, and how owners can make their practice more attractive before going to market.
His focus is simple: creating competitive tension between credible buyers and helping practice owners achieve the strongest possible outcome from their exit.
Tim English
Founder, The Accountants’ Table
Tim founded his own accountancy practice in 2010, growing the business over 11 years before successfully selling it in 2021. Today, he works with accountancy practice owners across the UK and further afield, helping them build stronger, more profitable and less owner dependent businesses. He is the founder of The Accountants’ Table, where he mentors and supports practice owners across areas including pricing, profitability, systems, team and growth. Having experienced the full journey from starting a practice to successfully exiting one, Tim brings a practical, first hand perspective on building a more valuable business that is attractive to a future buyer.
